Manaus / AM – Governor Amazonino Mendes received the technical report of the first phase of the work carried out by the international security consulting firm Giuliani Security & Safety (GSS), the former mayor of New York and owner of the company, Rudolph Giuliani.

The report contains recommendations for the next steps in the modernization and improvement project of the Amazonas public security system, “Intelligence and Protection of the Amazon”, which aims to reduce crime.

Governor Amazonino reiterated his gratitude to former Mayor Giuliani and stressed that the state of Amazonas has set a milestone in the country’s history of fighting crime. One of the points pointed out by Giuliani in the development of the project is the creation of Banco de DNA, whose project was assured by the governor Amazonino. The governor also informed that it is also necessary to increase the number of civil and military police.

The director of the GSS office, Rudolph Giuliani, pointed out that in the first phase, data on the reality of the security system were compiled and that the progress of the activities consists of two more stages, each lasting six months. According to the GSS executive director, John Huvane, in August part of the specialist team in prison system will land in the state to continue the consultancy.
